Job Summary

A1 Business and Technical College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach graduate level Health Informatics courses. This is a 100% online program requiring faculty members to teach in a virtual environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• None

Duties/Responsibilities

• Maintain best practices for teaching in an online environment including, but not limited to access to all course materials prior to the start of the course, conducting live lectures, providing industry relevant content, and giving constructive feedback in a timely manner
• Provide easy accessibility to online students via multiple methods including by not limited to Blackboard Collaborate, Teams, Zoom, telephone, and email
• Conduct a minimum of 2 live lectures with students at a convenient time for working students per course
• Maintain an accurate record of grades and submit midterm and final grades in a timely manner to the Registrar
• Work with colleagues within the Department on ways to improve course materials and teaching effectiveness. Evaluates teaching effectiveness through student ratings of course and instruction and self-evaluation

Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience

• Earned advanced degree from an accredited institution in the discipline
• Minimum 18 graduate hours in the discipline
• Willingness to work daytime and/or evening hours
• Willingness to teach online sections of the course
• Excellent teaching evaluations
• Prior experience with distance learning would be beneficial

• Ability to work in an online, virtual environment
