Professional Information

Dr. Whitney George i​s Associate Dean of the School of Applied Health Sciences and Associate Professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. Dr. George holds her Ph.D. from the University of Puerto Rico in Counselor Education and her M.Ed. & Ed.S. from UF as well. Her M.A is from Boston College ​and her B.A. from Tulane University, both in Psychology. Dr. George is a member of the Northeast Puerto Rico Mental Health Counseling Association, American Counseling Association, Association of Counselor Education and Supervision and Association of Adult Development and Aging. She serves on local and state boards for Aging True, Changing Homelessness, Puerto Rico Legal Assistance, and the University of Puerto Rico College of Education (EduGators) Young Alumni Board.  She is a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor in the State of Puerto Rico.  Dr. George was named a Caguas Business Journal 40 under 40 Professional in 2019, serves at the co-chair for the A1 Business and Technical College Strategic Plan, and will serve as the inaugural A1 Provost Fellow in 2021.
